Feeling Freakish - Revised

A personal thing that has happened to me where i felt like a freak was when i had a practice for a play i was doing called, Ragtime. It was a very important practice because the whole cast were going to take photos in their costumes. so after an hour of putting on makeup and costumes and getting everybody on the stage to take the photos the directer told us to get in place for the opening number. "Everybody, take your places. Now I'm going to lower the curtain and when it comes up everybody has to be in position and ready to go for the pictures!" the directer called. so i was all ready to go when all of a sudden i started to feel kinda funny. i tried to just shake it off but right then i barfed all over the stage i felt so embarrassed!!!

Another time when i felt like a freak was when i was over at a friends house with 4 other girls and they all wanted to watch a pg-13 rated movie, but I'm not allowed to watch pg-13 movies without my parents approving the movie. i felt so freakish and alone. "come on Elizabeth." whined one of my friends. "i really don't think i should watch this movie, Mabye, we could watch another movie?" i whispered. "come on you guys" said my friend. 'if shes not aloud to watch it then she isn't aloud to watch it, lets just pick another movie." "ok." groned my other friend.
so i guess in the end we're all freaks, but we all have friends that can back us up and make us feel good about our selfs.

Congresswoman Susan Davis
Representative – 53rd District

Dear Congresswoman Davis:

My name is Elizabeth Morse, and I attend 6th grade at High Tech Middle Media Arts School in Point Loma. First off, I applaud your efforts in education and the military and I encourage you to continue in your work.

The reason I am writing this letter is because I want government and citizens of the 53rd District to start using more renewable energy sources.

In school, we are learning about renewable energy sources and I’ve become aware of the need to use our current resources wisely and explore new energy sources, especially renewable ones. For instance cars, most of the cars we use today are powered by gasoline, which is terrible for our environment; it is one of the main contributors to global warming. One way we can slow global warming, is if most of the citizens in San Diego were to switch to hydro or electric powered cars.

Another smart energy solution is we could use more solar power to heat homes and water.

If we keep using non-renewable energy sources then we will eventually run out of things like coal, petroleum, and natural gas. If we didn’t do anything about global warming, then we will run out of today’s essential non-renewable energy sources, and find ourselves in the middle of a serious energy crisis!

One time my mom and I were driving to go see a play and I saw a big smelly truck that was pumping out all this smoke. It smelled terrible! Even inside my mom’s car I felt like my lungs were getting weaker and weaker with every breath! I don’t want our world to start smelling like that truck, or even worse, our air looking like the smoke coming out of the trucks tail pip!
I would much rather have a green, blossoming state that has good smelling air and barely any cars on the road.

I think there are things each citizen can do today, and I think there are more things our government can do to foster and encourage the use of renewable energy sources, for example you could take money out of the war fund and give it to car companies so that they can make more hydro powered cars, but they wouldn’t be so expensive.

Thank you for your consideration,

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Morse

For instance cars, most of the cars we use today are powered by gasoline, which is terrible for our environment; it is one of the main contributors to global warming. One way we can slow global warming, is if we switch completely to hydro powered or electric cars.

I would much rather have a green, blossoming state that has good smelling air and barely any cars on the road.

I think there are things each citizen can do today, and I think there are more things our government can do to foster and encourage the use of non-traditional renewable energy sources.

Thank you for your consideration,

Elizabeth Morse

Freak Story!!!

One time i was watching this show called THE OFFICE. THE OFFICE is a show about people working at their jobs in an office and they're all really crazy and wild, nothing like people who work in an office should be. there is a person named Jan who is dating a guy named Jim, they're layed back, but funny. Toby, is a guy who has a crush on Jan that everyone knows about. Meredith, is a older lady of has red hair and gets annoyed at everything.
So in this episode, its at night and all of the office people are ready to leave, so they all go down to the parking lot together but they find out that the gate is locked so they can't get their cars out of the parking lot. After a while of looking for a key, toby finds a football inside. "anybody want to throw this around?" Toby asks. "I know how to throw a football!" Jan says. Jan then throws it and it hits Meredith right smack in the face!!! "oooowwwwwww" Meredith screams.

Right then, Jans character must feel like a freak because she thought that she knew how to throw a football, but she hit someone in the face!!!

Freak the mighty

In my humanities class we are reading a book called Freak the Mighty and there is a charactor in the book named mighty (thats his nickname) Mighty is a very mean boy living with his sweet but clueless grandparents.
Mighty is the kind of boy who is very touchy, if you say that he looks wierd he would proably just punch you in the face.
In the book it said that mighty calls his grandparents Gram and Grim. When i heard the word grim it made me think of the grim reaper witch got me thinking that mighty proably dosn't like his grandparents all that much.
in the book we also meet a character named freak (also a nickname) freak, i think, is the kind of boy who is really sweet but if you get on his nerves he gets mad and hits you! freak is also disabled in a way where he has to use cruches. he also has a leg brace witch he thinks is super cool so he calls himself robot dude!!!

Writer's Workshop Published

THAT DREADFUL DAY

Once upon a time, there was a very busy hairdresser named Claris. She was 38 years old and she had a very, very busy shop, because she had no employees. She needed a vacation very badly, for she had not had one in 6 years. So her husband, Mark, booked a vacation to Hawaii for the two of them. Claris was so happy that she closed down shop for two whole days before they were to leave, so that she could pack and ready herself for the trip. Halfway through the packing, Claris realized she had left her most precious hair comb at her store, and she never went anywhere without it, because her mother gave it to her. It was her inspiration to become a hair stylist. But she was so excited about the trip that she had left it at her shop. So, she told Mark where she was going, and set off. When she got to the shop, it was almost 6:00pm and dark. She went into the store and to her office. She rummaged through her drawers until she found her comb, and turned to leave. But as soon as she stepped out of her office, she felt a hand grip her arm and.

* * * *

Back at home, Mark waited for his wife to come home, but after 7:00pm and Claris was still not home, he knew something was wrong. Very, very wrong. Mark was extremely worried, so he got in his car, and sped to the shop. When he got there, he found one of the people he worked with, standing over the body of his wife! It was a shock! Claris was lying there with her favorite comb in her hand. Her face was so pale it looked like it was made out of snow.
“Oh my God,” Mark shuddered. “She’s dead!”
“Oh, Mark, I’m so sorry!” cried Mindy.
“It’s okay,” croaked Mark, “it wasn’t your fault.” Or was it he thought?
Mark was devastated with his wife’s death, but it almost immediately turned to a burning anger. “What are you doing here?” he questioned Mindy. For a second, Mindy looked worried, her expression changed immediately to relax her features.
“I was at the market and was walking to my car, when I saw Claris lying here.” Mindy looked away in sorrow. Mark said nothing
“We must report it.” Mindy said strongly.
“Yes,” Mark replied. He then started sobbing.
“What will you do with your plane tickets to Hawaii?” Mindy asked casually.
“I don’t know.” Mark cried.
“You could go by yourself.” Mindy suggested.
“MY WIFE HAS JUST DIED, Mindy! Do you think I want to go on a vacation that we were supposed to go on together?” Mark shouted. He immediately knew he shouldn’t have shouted, because Mindy looked shocked. “I’m sorry,” Mark said softly, “but I’m so angry I can’t control myself!”
Mindy looked like she understood now, “Come, let’s go to the police.”
* * * *

Two days after Mark had reported to the police about his dead wife, he received a call from them saying that the person who had killed his wife was Mindy! They had discovered fingerprints on Claris’s arm that led straight to Mindy. Mark was outraged. He thought he could trust Mindy. So he went down to the jail and requested a visit with her. When the guard brought Mindy out, he gave her 15 minutes. As soon as the guard had left, Mindy blurted out “I know you know what I did, but it’s not what you think. I wanted to be with you.”

“You wanted to be with me, so you killed my wife!” Mark shouted softly.
“I love you and I thought that if Claris was out of the picture, you would take me on your trip to Hawaii.” Mindy whispered quickly.
“Oh, now I get it,” Mark faked “and of course I’ll take you with me to Hawaii.”
“Really?” Mindy said thoughtfully.
“Yeah! In your dreams!” Mark said very calmly.
Just then, the guard returned.
“Mark! Don’t do this to me!” Mindy yelled as the guard dragged her away.
A few minutes went by, and then the guard came back.
“Do you want me to escort you out?” the guard asked Mark.
“Thanks.” Mark replied, and the guard led him to the front office.
“Thank you” Mark replied solemnly
“I am so sorry about your wife.” The guard said quietly.
“It’s alright.” Mark replied, “I know I’ll meet her in another,
happier world.”

The Dentist
An appointment with the dentist

Who said, 'Now open wide'
And once he'd prised my jaws apart
He deftly jumped inside
He mountaineered over molars, Trampolined on my tongue

Then quickly jumped back out again
And said 'That's it, you're done'.

This is a poem I found on the internet and I thought I related to it because I for one hate going to the dentist. I wish all dentist appointments were like the one in this poem. I think that the importance of this poem is, when you go to the dentist you should just relax because usually they tell you when they are going to do something that might hurt.
